Getting to know Brett…
In Hospitality
Q: When did you start working at Atlantic View Hotel and what attracted you to the position?
Brett Falls: I started my position on September 23rd, 2024. With a background in boutique hotels, this naturally felt like the right fit for me. Having the ability to showcase a new renovation and the challenge of transforming and help develop an East Coast Edge mentality inspired me.
Q: Where and when did your career in hospitality start?
BF: I started my career in hospitality in 2001 at The Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, W.V.!
Q: What is the toughest part of your job right now?
BF: I would not say tough, but working from home has its own unique challenges. I’m excited for the renovation to be complete so I can get my “Feet on the Ground” and take in the new, unique atmosphere.
Q: What has been your greatest success thus far in your career?
BF: In 2013 the Sanctuary Resort at Kiawah Island Golf Resort was awarded their 5th star by Forbes Travel Magazine. I had completed the check in of the secret shopper as well as the check out. I ranked 100% with both operations and helped the resort to remain a 5-star Forbes Property.
Q: What was your fondest memory of a guest?
BF: A guest was traveling with her mother who had dementia. She was in the process of stopping at some memorable places her mother had experienced through the years from Florida to Maine. I was humbled I was approached to assist with their visit and was asked to arrange some special amenities and accommodation during their visit. I was honored I had the opportunity to be a part of this journey for her mother down memory lane.
Personally Speaking
Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?
BF: I love watching Sci-Fi movies and collecting Sneakers (Air Jordan’s to be specific).
Q: What is one thing very few people know about you?
BF: I love to learn more about History. I’m a Huge History Fan.
Q: Who do you admire, or look up to, and why?
BF: I have always admired Michael Jordan. He rose from being cut from his H.S. basketball team to be the greatest player known today. He is competitive and wants to be the best at everything he does.
